Step 1: Choose “steady” over “perfect”

A calm baseline is:

  • consistent meal times
  • consistent portions
  • one change at a time

Nutrition tip: if you change 3 things at once, you can’t tell what helped.

Step 2: Make transitions slow (3–10 days)

If you’re changing food:

  • Day 1–2: 75% old / 25% new
  • Day 3–4: 50/50
  • Day 5–6: 25/75
  • Day 7+: 100% new (if stools stay stable)

If things worsen, pause. Go slower.

Step 3: Watch the “comfort signals”

  • stool consistency
  • scratching/licking
  • ear wax/smell changes
  • energy and sleep

Calm rule: look for trends over a week, not one day.

  • calmer skin
  • better coat comfort

If your goal is coat comfort too, grooming plays a role:

Step 5: If your doodle is sensitive, keep meals boring (in a good way)

Simple ingredients, simple prep, repeatable meals.

Sensitive nutrition FAQs

Is this a replacement for vet advice?
No—especially if symptoms are severe or persistent. Use this as calm support, not diagnosis.

How long until I see changes?
Often 1–3 weeks for digestion trends, longer for skin/coat.

Should I use supplements?
Only if you can introduce slowly and track changes. (Your Premium Grooming Guide’s supplement deep-dive is a great next step for that.)
